Diesels 5120

Diesels 5121
It is there if you want it, but even if you don't do a high mileage, I find diesels more pleasant to drive. Petrol engines have catalytice converters, and most...

Why not compare the two? Turbos are put on petrol cars to make them go like stink, they are put on diesels to help clean them up as well as improving performance

The thing to compare is the same car with a diesel engine and then a petrol engine.

Diesels had a bad name a few years back and its hard for some people and corners of the media to accept any different as they dont want to appear too radical in really backing diesel. Fiat for example always had a reputation for there cars rusting way before they should. They seem to have sorted that now but the stigma still lives on. Same with diesel.

People have a choice between petrol, derv or LPG. Let people make there own choice. An advantage I see that petrol has over diesel is that the cars can normally be converted to LPG which has its economical and enviromental benifits far superior to petrol of derv.

I personally will buy diesel unless I decided to re-live my youth and buy a stupidly expensive sports car that is designed to do 0-60 in "oh my god that was quick" which diesels arnt designed for. But as an everyday car that can do 115mph, accelerate well in all gears, does between 33 and 40mpg (driven hard) has the capabilty of going off-road when I need it, I think I will
