Then I'm against it, and I doubt that the founding fathers envisioned anything even close to what we've come to. They probably never envisioned such a large population, either -- and that's the root cause of our traffic problems. Too many people, too little space.
Supposedly if we dislike our government's policies we can vote the bastards out. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Can we buttume that 75% of the drivers ignore the 65 mph speed limit when they can? Since we don't really have all that many accidents, that works out pretty well. Why, then, can we not get the speed limits raised to something that most people would agree on rather than on what the tax collectors decide we ought to pay? Duh. Never mind, I answered my own question.
It would be more honest of you to say "Bow your head and obey. We know what's good for you."
