But it can probably be got around, witness Christine 1 and her husband 2 who 'got off' because they couldn't remember who was driving at the time they got caught.

I dunno why this kind of thing shouldn't attract a similar penalty, for both 'drivers', to what either would get of they admitted they had been driving. At the time they admitted they were in the car, and they had both been driving, but at the specific time of the offence they couldn't be certain which was behind the wheel. Now, I accept that such a statement might be true, as my wife and I also sometimes take turns driving, and on any long journey we might make a couple of stops and I seriously doubt we'd remember exactly where we changed over. But I'd still expect one or both of us to be 'done' if we committed an offence. After all, at least one of us (and them) were driving, we just don't know who.
