More proof that incresed speed does not equal incresed rest 4574
Bernard Farquart That, coming from someone who can't even spell "increased" correctly, and twice in one sentence? You're no scholar and that article tells us little about speed limits' effect on...

I totally agree about the poor design. It was a used car, so there is no owners manual, but I have looked and looked for a means to lower the thing, and there is none. It's on the door post, comes out of a reel when I pull it, and is permanently at that height, in fact the plastic trim piece on the inside of the door post has a molded in hole where the SB exits, so I cant even do something like drill a new hole for the mounting bolt or anything. Sure, I could completely modify the plastic and the whole works, but would it be legal then, and for all I know, there may not be another point to bolt it under that plastic. Personally, if it was legal to modify them at all, I'd remove the shoulder strap entirely. I never complained about wearing the old lap belts, but this thing across my neck is simply intolerable. I'd probebly wear my SB all the time if it was just a lap belt. Now I only put it on when I am in cities and towns and remove it in rural areas. This is just my opinion, but I think they put it that high on the door post just so cops can see it, and the hell with the driver that has to wear the damn thing. I am wondering if I could possibly add some sort of clip or something lower on the post to hold it down. Legalities aside, I tend to think it would still do it's job in an accident, but who knows. I have never owned a new car, but I sure hope they design them better in the newer cars since we are forced to wear them.
