Ghastly place! :-) Actually, you're as likely to find me driving under the speed limit as over. I have a clean licence, so I can't be missing...

It's very dodgy territory when some people claim pbutt-fail "quotas" but the DSA are only doing a job (to keep people who are not up to the prescribed standard off the roads...

*marvellous* ! one question answered, several to go.

make, model.

see question 2

no, I don't watch soaps (see how freely I answered you question ? ) and I don;t feel I'm prying, merely asking simple questions pertinent to this newsgroup which will help me guage who I'm talking with.

so you do *not* use sat nav. ok, thanks for answering :-) I can also read maps. your honest answer helps me gauge your reaction to your opinion that GPS is a 'toy' just like my brother in law did when HE did quite a few miles P.A but only on familiar roads. as soon as he foundhimsellfin unfamiliar territory HE realised that the GPS I'd been using and quacking on about for the last 2 years was not, in fact, a toy, rather a really useful bit of kit, best used in conjunctionwitha map and most effective when one is faced with doing hundreds if not thousands of miles around placed one has never been.

TWO WEEKS after me setting BiL up with tomtom he now knows what all the fuss is about and wishes he'd got on board when I did. might have saved him getting 2 lots of 3 points on his licence for a start. it certainly would have saved him hundreds of hours going from present location to a postode in a different county and then on to another in a different county.

he did in excess of 50k miles last year, btw. I think he'll get that down by a few thousand this year, mainly due to the lack of wrong turns, U turns and general buggering about getting lost down dual carriageways. anyone who's been there and now actuallyusessatnav will know what I'm on about ;-)

now, if you'd be so polite as to answer the other questions ?
