We have the Right of Transit Ordinarily used for Personal Travel on our Public Highways, and today, that is the mechanical device known as the Automobile.
Let me ask you a question. Walking doesn't involve a mechanical devide. And, everybody understands we have the Right to Travel ON our Public Highways. What would you do if somebody were to begin Walking down the middle of the right hand lane on a busy Highway?
Likely, you would instruct them to get off the Highway, and rightfully so, as they would be obstructing the Transit Ordinarily used, that being the Automobile. In fact, Walking, Biking and Horseback Riding can, and often are, prohibited from Public Highways because they obstruct with the Transit Ordinarily used.
The more and more our Public Highways are made unuseable by anything but the Automobile, the more this Lie that Driving Automobiles is a Privilege makes us Prisoners of Privilege behind bars of blacktop.

You've heard it over and over, but have you listened? Just like people who live next to a railroad hear the train, but rairly listen to it. There is a subitilty in what I'm saying that even I had to closely listen to before I understood it. I say we have the Right of Transit Ordinarily used for Personal Travel, and many will respond "Yes, you have the Right to Travel, you just don't have the Right to Drive Automobiles." Thing is, Driving Automobiles IS the Transit Ordinarily used for Personal Travel. And, I am not debating our Right to Travel, but instead our Right of Transit Ordinarily used for Personal Travel.
