Why the Govt won't raise the 40MPH speed limit for HGVs. 920
Absolutely! You have got to give those in front a chance to overtake. Yes I know some will...

These hotel types are entirely homogenous and have a special double bed with a single bunk above, running crossways and sleep up to 3. The facilities are determined by the hotel name. Formule 1 is basic, with shared facilities. Etap adds en-suite toilet and shower for 5-10 extra euros. Breakfast is probably best avoided, if alternative facilities are available. Typical prices outside built up areas on the autoroute network, 35EUR for Etap or 27EUR for Formule 1. Room rate is not affected by occupancy.

The toilets and showers are cleaned using automatic high pressure nozzles installed in the pod, to avoid the need for staff. You'll be lucky to see another person (including staff) during your entire stay, unless you actually risk the breakfast.

I wouldn't dream of using traditional hotels when travelling in France, as these are just so convenient. You can turn up at any time and everything is automatic, clean and cheap. I wouldn't want to stay in one long term on holiday, though. They are cheap, clean, functional, not already fully booked and conveniently located on commercial parks next to autoroute junctions, not warm, comfortable and next to the beach.

Christian.
