Reading it again, that statement didn't say what I meant... I guess I got a little carried away. However, I'd say fiddling with the radio is a "significant" factor in auto accident occurrence.
Studies I've heard reported on the radio and TV all come to the conclusion that cell phone use is waaaay down for most other forms of distraction causing accidents.
Hands-free is something else that needs studied. Some automatically think that it is safer, but studies I've heard of say that there's no difference - its the concentration that is the factor that detracts from driving, and the concentration needed to talk hands free is the same as the concentration needed to talk while holding the phone. I wouldn't mind seeing more studies, tho.
Because I don't believe anything is gained by inserting the requirement for hands free operation. I believe we should either go with the premise that its distracting and we're going to 1) educate people to do these two things at once more safely or 2) ban 'em althogether.
Not sure what "limba" is - thought you meant Rush Limbaugh, until you say you think I'm a liberal. I'm the opposite of both liberal and conservative - I'm a libertarian - that feels he has to vote republican because its the best chance of not winding up with more useless-stupid gun control laws. a pet issue with me.
