There is no rational reason people should welcome violent criminals into our society ... and many of the illegals coming have criminal records in their own country. That's why many of them can't get jobs at home. Mexico's economy isn't doing badly at all. There is a thriving middle clbutt. There are direct flights daily from Mexico City to Las Vegas.
But there are three main groups who come here illegally, those who want to make more than they can at home who have skills such as dental technicians etc.etc. Those who have no poor education because they dropped out of school and can't get jobs at home. Criminals who can't get jobs at home because employers there check criminal records religiously and won't think of hiring anyone who has been arrested. The criminals make up a pretty large segment. Most people don't even think of the send segment, they just envision poor Juan picking lettuce and mowing lawns but the uneducated are probably the smallest component of the illegal invaders. The criminals aren't very interested in taking jobs of any kind. They come to join the drug gangs and other criminals doing their thing.
Many of the poorly educated find jobs in construction and drive down wages in what was a good industry for many people to make a decent living. No more, at least not in the Southwest. Many others are in factories such as the meat packing plants where they have driven wages down even further then they already were ( those plants were never good places to work ).
The apologists for the invaders who want to see unlimited invasion try to draw a picture of poor Juan just trying to feed his family. Bank robbers are just trying to make money too.
The majority of invaders are not looking for the menial jobs though. They are either criminals or they come with skills and do take people's jobs.
