Plenty musicians better than me. No denial there.
Plenty Americans who'll do that now--we call them scabs and scum bags. No need to cross a border. They get a rep and don't get hired by other bands unless they leave town and try again somewhere else.
And who can fire a business owner, Dave? This is the point where your argument falls to the ground, twitching and sighing. The worst anyone can do is not contract my services. If they cut me loose during a gig, I still get paid. Contracts and riders, you know.
That's how it works in your world where the boss waxes fat off your sweat. And some business owners are like that, sure. But another musician's personal living standards has nothing to do with me
Dumbbuttes!!! 4141Look who's talking! It does? Really? You must be joking--I thought all the world's bandleaders lived in my town! This is a shock. And you must not be Good thing you added that...
See, this is the music business, filled with entrepenuers on all levels: engineers, legal, accounting, managing, agents, drivers, and producers as well as talent. I'm my own boss, I set the fees, I pay my sidemen, I send out the tax forms, I write (most of) the songs, I direct the band, I own the band name, I get the gigs. Been doing this since the early 1970s. So I ask you again--who is going to fire me?
Still waiting...
