Endorsements and Driving Work 678

Ha! You'll be lucky. Unless you have skills which are in demand and of short supply, I think you'd be better off waiting until you're asked. Otherwise you're handing them a reason not to employ you.

I was caught the morning after, which is different, I never ever in my life took my car to the pub and then drove. The annoying thing is I know...

Whatever you do, be very careful not to act fraudulently (I'm sure you wouldn't anyway). If they ask about your driving history, tell them. If they don't, wait until they do - and if your job involves any kind of driving, they will ask.

Years ago I asked the fleet controller at work about driving endorsements - curious to know if many people had poor driving records. She told me that it's not usually a problem. The company has to declare the situation to their insurer who may then choose to impose an additional excess which is usually pbutted on to the employee concerned.

It would be a problem if it's something they can't ignore... like the one employee who did a hit-and-run in his company car... he got jailed (don't know how long for) and the company didn't retain his services. I'm certain she mentioned, at the time, that a number of people had DR offences endorsed on their licence and as long as it was the only offence, it was ok. Of course, each company (and their insurer) may take a different view.
