Right about the point where it details the vehicle covered.
Ok, what would happen if your wife (buttuming you're married) took your insurance certificate naming you as the driver with your renewal form and any MOT certificate required, and she wasn't named on the policy - do you think they would let her tax it?
Wonder why they would.
They don't care whether the person taxing the car is insured to drive it. All they care about is that the car is covered by an insurance policy during the period the tax disc is to run for.
Eh?
What if I don't own the car? The post office doesn't care who owns the car.
What if it's my wife's car?
My insurance policy covers me to drive other cars. I don't own my wife's car (well the whole joint property thing may come into play) but as far as they know, I don't own the car - nor do they care. And my insurance policy states I can drive other vehicles (and I don't think it specifies that they must be insured elsewhere any more), so why wouldn't this be good enough to allow me to tax the car?
