Then why do households families that have more than one car need anything more than insuring a vehicle, and using their "drive another vehicle" cover? Say husband and wife. Husband owns car A, wife owns car B. Say husband insures car A, comprehensively, and his policy states he's insured to drive other cars. Why isn't that sufficient to "use" tax and insure car B?
tax online renewal uses.
And when you use the car tax renewal online thingmy, when it check car insurance, it doesn't look for the owner, nor the driver, it looks for the vehicle.
I've cited a reference in another reply - shouldn't be too difficult to find my post.
"that car" but not "in it's own right"? OK, so it's not a standalone policy, simply covering the car, all by it's lonesome.
So who's responsible - anybody who has 3rd part cover, as part of their policy's "drive another car" cover, who may have used it?
Well I've cited it in another reply to this thread. HTH.
What's one of the fundamental questions private motorists get asked when getting a quote? - "What's your vehicle?"
Righto.
So what are you disagreeing with, then?
Ok, then - when I try and tax my car, and my new certificate hasn't yet arrived, why is it not valid for my wife to tax the car, as her policy say she can drive "other cars"?
Accepted.
But when it looks up the insurance details, it doesn't look up the driver, nor a name - it looks up for a vehicle.
