Sure - its based on the buttumption that the OP is telling the truth and has accurately depicted the accident. The accident report would not be as reliable as the OP, since the OP was there and the cop wasn't, so the OP therefore has better information. We can safely buttume that the OP is not lying to us, since she's got exactly zero reason to do that - she's after some opinions on the situation, and any bad information she gave would just distort the opinions she gets. And, since she doesn't know any of us, what would be the point in trying to impress us, or mislead us? You think that just because everyone lies to you on and off the job, 'cuz they're afraid you'll throw 'em in jail if they tell you the truth, you buttume that everyone everywhere is lying about everything. Your problem, not mine.
Of course, if the info is wrong, then this whole thread is of no value. Meanwhile, whether the cop wrote her because she's a girl, or for some other reason, its a real chickeneyed situation - buttuming the OP is giving correct information, which I do.
