While I have nothing against bicyclists, some of them lessen the surprise every time I hear about an accident.
I saw 4 riding 4 wide into the right lane of a 4 lane freeway today, even though there's a 12' shoulder and a 6' bike lane available. I know, they have the right to be there; with 65 mph traffic, a lot of large trucks, and a full bike lane and shoulder available it just seems insane to do so.
I've seen several cars hit and crushed by trucks on that road from trying to merge stupidly. While I don't care I had to move left to pbutt, I hate to think what would happen if a half-asleep truck driver came up on those 4 riders.
And yeah, I'm sure someone will claim they can ride a 10 speed 65 mph, but still, stay in the bike lane for your own safety if it's there.
And no, I'm not trying to say anyone has a right to throw a bottle at anyone. I hope you got their plates and called the cops about the buttault they committed; California has extra provisions if you commit buttault from a vehicle IIRC because of drive-bys and road rage. Anyone throwing bottles at any bicyclist deserves some jail time.
