To be honest I don't really care. We all know about the environment problems, and we need to do something about it. Increasing the fuel prices probably isn't the best thing to do, but for the average motorist it's not a huge problem. I think the biggest problem with these fuel prices is things like lorries.

Maybe they should have different rates depending on what the vehicle's used for? If it's carrying tonnes of goods, then it will be cheap. If it's a big 4x4 with just a driver then it'll cost more. When somebody takes their whole family out in their 4x4 it could be cheaper. This is obviously hard to implement, but I think something like this could work.

Since owning my car (25 months) I've spent less than £800 on fuel, but £2500 on insurance. Even if it went up by 10p, it'd cost me less than an extra £50-year. I know there are people who do much higher mileages, but you can see why I don't really care. Insurance cost is another matter though.
