Were responsible for an instant 2% hike in mortgage interest rates taking the already whopping 10% to 12% before finally giving up and withdrawing out of the ERM because they couldn't balance the books. Responsible for one of the highest rates of home repossessions because of the mbuttive interest rates. And then there's 3 million unemployed. And the decimation of the North East from shutting down coal and shipyards. And the poll-council tax.
And finally the "live off the welfare state" mentality. Wham! even wrote a song about it.
