Result!!! So you'll be a keen supporter of my campaign for the nationwide installation of noise...

I could, but I doubt I could afford to buy a new property in a new area, without enlarging the mortgage sustantially and wiping out any improvment in Salary.

We got lucky when we bought (right at the bottom of property boom-bust cycle) and got a 2 bed terrace in Warrington for £32k with a 25 year mortgage. 4 years later the house was revalued at £100k so we remortgaged at £65k over 15 years, and paid off any other borrowings we had made. Since re- mortgaging the value is arround £70-80k. We are still infront, but unless we ride out the slight dip until at least the summer (when prices rise), then sell and move rather than pay off the mortgage, there will be very little extra left to put toward a more expensive house (not likley to find anything in a similar size for the same money). Leaving the company would automatically negate any share options (about 8000 shares so far) that I have already accrued but haven't matured to an exercisable state yet.

It's just a waiting game, I have to give 2 minths notice anyway, and very companies will wait that long for a new starter. -- "Sorry Sir, the meatballs are Orf" The poster formerly known as Skodapilot.
