Fuel protests

Any protest is not likely to go on for more than a few weeks, and no PAYE employee would be laid of in that short time. If you think your company will then your working for the wrong company. When I was PAYE at the last fuel protest we were all paid to sit at home once the fuel run out.

And when you use your fuel card do you use the cheapest fuel or just the one that is the most conveinient and possibly most expensive cos you aint paying for it.

Im not saying any protests shouldnt go ahead but the people organising them need to think of others, not just themselves

How would the economy pick up? Less tax paid on fuel would be recovered from some other tax. You will pay it back in one way or another.

That would never happen.

drives consider who LOL !. There are good or really excellent drivers, and really bad drivers. Between those extremes come the rest of us. I don't accept an argument that says those drivers nearer the...

I became self employed cos I was made redundant from a PAYE position and had no choice in the matter. The only job I could get to pay the mortgate (hadnt even paid the solicitors bill for moving house when I was laid off, let alone a mortage payment) was as a contractor.

I only really have sympathy for the smaller hauliers that are fighting the big boys in a tough market. The big supermarkets etc will always use the bigger haulage companies and so there business should always be there. Its the smaller, maybe even one man operations in the haulage business that I do have sympathy for. If they cant compete then they are out of business very quickly
