Rod Speed

One more thought here.

Unlike you, Rod, I was born in the mid-60s and have led a comfortable, sheltered life. I do value your perspective on this and find it rebutturing, believe it or not (yes even if your style is obnoxious).

However, maybe you can understand why I worry? My age group has not had to face the struggles you have had to face.

For example if the peak comes soon, at *least* I still have my parents alive to teach me the skills like canning and gardening that may come in very handy. It saddens me to think that my grandmother, who lived through the depression and knew quite a bit about conserving and getting by in tough times, pbutted away recently. With her went a wealth of information that may come in handy.

So maybe such a scenario won't come as a rude awakening to you. But you can bet it will come as a rude awakening to those of us who, like me, were born during boom times and that's all we've ever known.
