Gas: The good 'ol days 2238

Wow, this is the first time I've seen two people arguing with each other on usenet when they BOTH totally miss the point. If you know that oil production is going to start dropping in a few years, do you:

A) Build more oil refineries to refine oil into gasoline B) Make do with the refineries that you have (adding one or two in certain areas because transporting oil to other places to refine it is too expensive) C) Try to build refineries, claim that the "enviroweenies" won't let you, and then try to explain to your shareholders how you aren't willing to deal with a little red tape to increase their earnings (greatly peeing off your shareholders in the process)

I thought inflation was dead... beaten out of the system... you f***ing apologists kill me. $3 a gallon Gasoline -- THANKS ALOT REPUBLIKKKANS is this the first f***ing Time Ever that there was...

Just like all companies, oil companies are in business to make a profit, and answer to their shareholders for their actions, or lack thereof. If there was a future need for more refineries, they would be built . . . right here in the U.S., and the enviroweenies wouldn't be able to stop it, or even slow it down. The reason that oil refineries are not being built in the U.S. has NOTHING to do with environmental concerns, at all. -Dave
