Why Not Train People 4073
NGs pruned Dave Head I would say that *very few* reasonably able-bodied people are simply...

Simply put, I forgot. It completely slipped my mind. They got me fair and square. This is the first time I've actually been stopped legitimately for an instance in which I did something wrong. I'm just frustrated and venting. I don't feel any bad feeling towards the cop that stopped me, as he could very well ahve been told to do what he was doing today by his superiors. I feel a police officer should have more integrity and intelligence than that, but hey, I don't think anything can be done about that.

Weren't we just talking about this? And all this time I thought the point of being a lead-foot was to get out in front! I'm driving down a freeway in the left lane...

In any case, my points are that:

On Fri, 08 Apr 2005 18:18:08 +0100, Robert Briggs Glad to hear it. Does that include...

a) I feel a $185 fine is excessive for not having a current registration, much less it being less than a week since it expired. It used to be a $30-$40 fine, something relatively small. Thanks to that corrupt queer of an NJ governor we had, he upped it to $185 under guise of anti-terrorism measures. Yeah, right... Like some person is going to call-off flying into a high-rise over a $185 fine. Oh, and besides the fact that I'm a tall lanky white guy (a very high profile person race, us tall white guys), that "I'VE GOT IRISH ROOTS" bumper sticker with the shamrock really gives me away as a race of high profile for acts of terrorism. I'm sure the Cherry Hill police ahd a field day with that one though, as tehy have been known for various forms of profiling, racial especially, for years. I'll just stop with that stuff now, beucase I could go on forever about the illusion of security we have everywhere these days and the injustices of the legal system.

Had fight with gfriend over LLBing
I agree with you 100%. The left lane is for pbutting. The right lane is...

b) There are countless better things for cops to be doing. From good deeds like what I mentioned happened yesterday when teh cop drove right by the little old lady obviously in need of buttistance (slowly no less, and he had to go around her) to upholding public safety and the safety of our roads (like the reckless drivers, LLBs, 'weavers', red light runenrs, and various other dangerous acts I see every day). Sure, if a cop is driving around looking for any bad things and running plates while he's at it (should probably be paying attention to the road and what other drivers are doing though), then if he finds something amiss go ahead. But to be sitting at an intersection running the plates of cars stopped at a red light is ridiculous. On my way home I observed several people driving unsafely that he should have been out at least giving warnings to (everyone deserves a wake-up call before getting hit with points or a fine).
