Green Wave uU|G*dfHK8Zr48

more power to their elbow
It looks like it's down to the kids to enforce the rules when ignorant car drivers flout the rules and endanger people...

I think the point was that, like the Old Shoreham Road near here, if you set off westbound from a green light at the eastern end and stick to the speed limit, you will be almost guaranteed to hit next set at red, every time. However, if you drive at ~38-40mph in the 30 limit or ~48-50mph in the 40 limit towards the western end you will pretty much always catch them still green. There are 12 sets of lights along that road (not counting crossings) so if you drive legally, you're stuffed. A simple 'green wave' set at the limit would make life a lot easier for the drivers (no more stop-start) and would encourage them to keep their speed down (carrot) rather than forcing them to (stick) with cameras. It's win-win for zero-cost.

Or at least it would be if our beloved councillors had the brains to see it.

Ray, I know you're still smarting from the NIP but you really need to get a sense of perspective about this. Throwing everything you have learned away will achieve nothing other than probably get you another NIP. Just accept that you made a mistake, you got caught, life is not fair and you'll never shag Kristin Scott Thomas. That's just the way it is.
