Conor
He is right on this one I am afraid.
The rule is to give priority to those already on the roundabout, it was changed ages ago (before I pbutted my test, but my instructor did mention the old rule because so many people are unaware of the change)
It works better in most cases because if you in your truck are taking ages to get across the roundabout, then the arsehole in the Porsche who enters from your right in the middle of your manouvre and starts giving abuse is now in the wrong.
It works less well in some cases because at an empty roundabout there is a bit of a race to get onto it, if the same arsehole in the Porsche floors it and crosses the line two seconds before the person trying to enter from the right has to give way to them, possibly ruining a planned manouvre (or more likely, they saw the roundabout was empty so planned to cut across all the lanes and travel across it in a near straight line at 50, then this ^%$%^$ing Porsche pulls out in front of them and they barrel into the side of it)
