Hey Conor, McKev, any other truckers

Knight Of The Road

Just to avoid a few stages in the argument:

63: Give plenty of room to long vehicles on the roundabout as they need more space to manoeuvre. Do not ride in the space they need to get round the roundabout. It may be safer to wait until they have cleared the roundabout.

163: In all cases watch out for and give plenty of room to - long vehicles (including those towing trailers) which might have to take a different course approaching or on the roundabout because of their length. Watch out for their signals.

164: Mini-roundabouts Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pbutt round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Beware of vehicles making U-turns. Laws RTA 1988 sect 36 & TSRGD reg 10(1), 16(1)

146: Take extra care at junctions. You should - watch out for long vehicles which may be turning at a junction ahead; they may have to use the whole width of the road to make the turn (see Rule 196)

DfT Road rests down 0.6% to 3,201
The annual report of motoring casualties was published yesterday and showed improvements in just about every area...

196: Large vehicles. These may need extra road space to turn or to deal with a hazard that you are not able to see. If you are following a large vehicle, such as a bus or articulated lorry, be prepared to stop and wait if it needs room or time to turn.

Terrible accident 301
Adrian says... Management want to restructure things which means a £5k paycut. Plenty of HGV...
