No, it can be useful for others to help spot Spammers as well - it's getting more subtle all the time.
I picked a few of the 'unusual' and 'unique' aspects of the post to Google for. Things like the URL, and the 'cardboardstan' address. That led me to the Google Groups posting, which had a link to the profile.
Google don't show the whole email address, but it was the same one used to post here, so you could be certain it was the same person.
BTW if you are actually a mixture of the two descriptions (a naive Spammer) this might just possibly slightly help you to spam more sensibly in future, but that just makes it more interesting ;-)
The *ONLY* way to spamvertise your stuff on a group like this and get away with it is to actually participate and add something useful to the group, and have a link to your site in your (short) signature. *IF* people get to know you over time and also have a need for what you sell, then they may well head your way.
