High Gas Prices Fuel an Octane Rebellion 2000

Rod Speed

Absolutely relevant - See premise #2 in the buttignment I give you below.

Again, see your buttigment below.

Really? Hope you are ready to explain your position below.

Here's your buttignment. It will require you to do more than just say "no it doesn't", or "that's irrelevant." Explain your position or shut up.

#1. You claim that we cannot get more energy from higher octane fuel because the ethanol blended in to raise the octane rating has less energy than the gasoline.

#2. Many car makers have stated that the only effect that LOWER than recommended octane will usually have is reduction in horsepower (a reduction that most drivers would never notice).

Neither of the above are my claims. #1 is your claim. I have said the opposite and you say I am wrong.

While I agree with #2, it is premise based on statements from car makers.

If #1 is true, then #2 must be false.

Answer the following question: If a high performance engine cannot extract more energy from higher octane fuel, as you have insisted, then how come the amount of power coming from a high performance engine goes DOWN when the octane rating goes down?

Nope, not to that particular claim of yours I chose to comment on. Completely useless, as always with your desperate attempts...
