High Gas Prices Fuel an Octane Rebellion 2012
By that do you mean the day the Social Security checks hit the mailboxes? :) Here's a trick I learned when I was in AZ (where they still have drive-throughs in banks): when a...

True, the "gas out," concept is a nice knee-jerk reaction to the situation.

True, because all the "gas out," would do is that most people would simply buy their gas on the day before or after the "gas out day," and they would still be consuming gas if they drove anywhere on that day, hence my idea to park the car for one day a week (note how my idea is an ongoing one and not a one time protest) so that no gas is consumed and the missed trips are not made up on the day before-after.

Just another wild thought, but two things that people could do to reduce gas consumption would be to 1) combine several errands into one trip and 2) skip the drive-through when going to the bank or McDonalds or what ever. Has anyone ever done a study on how many gallons are wasted annually in this country by cars idling at the drive-thru?

Well, I guess that would be OK as long as it is practical for you to do so and it is for something that is necessary like food or similar. My point being to send a message not only to the oil companies, but to the corporations in general not to f*ck with the consumer, or else. :)

Man, I hadn't thought about Sam in years. He was a damn funny comedian.... ;-) Wish I could "MOVE TO THE TRNASIT," but right now, that just isn't possible for me.
