By that do you mean the day the Social Security checks hit the mailboxes? :)

Here's a trick I learned when I was in AZ (where they still have drive-throughs in banks): when a car pulls up to the drive-through window, a teller will walk away from her post at the walk-up windows and go to help the customer in the car - NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE STANDING IN LINE in the walk-up queue. They're like Pavlovian Dogs - when the bell rings, they drop whatever they're doing and answer the call(*). The concept of "first come, first served" goes right out the (drive-through) window.

Bottom line, if you go to the bank, and there's a long line inside, drive on over to the drive-through window and you'll be served almost immediately. Sadly, this won't work in SoCal, because all of the banks have closed down their drive-through lanes for some reason.

(*) This is, incidentally, why EVERY store clerk will drop whatever customer they are waiting on in order to answer the telephone. You could have been standing in line for 20 minutes, but that customer calling on the phone MUST be served NOW - effectively cutting in line ahead of you.
