Then the solution is obvious. ;)
Remember, this is sunny SoCal - you should be able to bike most of the time, and then ride the train or drive the rest.
I used to travel to Tucson regularly. I'd leave OC on Friday night (I had to wait until after 7 PM; if I left any earlier, I would not arrive any sooner because I'd spend more time mired in traffic) and come back on Sunday night. There were predictable points where I would *always* find a backup - like where the NB carpool lane ends.
Try coming west on I-8; traffic is pretty heavy along that route, as well. ;)
Hehe yup! You can always tell when you've crossed over into LA county, because the freeway narrows from 6 lanes down to a ridiculous 3. The 405 is wider, but had more traffic because everyone knows it's a better road. Oh, and just TRY to go north on the 405 from the Irvine area before 8 PM on a workday or on any weekend afternoon. ;)
The 22 sucked when I used to take it; it's being widened now, so it probably sucks even more now. It will be interesting to see whether congestion eases any when they finally finish it.

No-rent condos? Fascinating... I suppose that's supposed to keep the property values up or something?
;) Obviously the shoes I described don't fit your feet. ;)
However, there are quite a few people who put absolutely no thought into selecting a home near transit, and then use lack of convenience as an excuse for not using transit. -- What the heck, I'll play too. - Dave
How Did I Miss This One 3709Cars and trucks frequently travel I-15 at 65(+) mph 5'-10'-15' apart. Nobody is interested in saving time, their goal is to drive faster...
