I disagree, having had personal experience with both types of blowouts. Yes, common wisdom - which I agree with - says that if you have mismatched pairs of tires on your car, put the ones with more traction on the rear. That way if the fronts start to slide under braking, the car will either slide straight ahead or understeer (depending on whether you're cornering or not) but *not* oversteer (which may catch some drivers by surprise.) However, in a situation where the likely failure mode of the tire is a blowout (i.e. donut spare) things are a little different - when the tire blows, that corner will experience the same sort of thing as if that one wheel were braking hard but the other ones were not. If that happens on a front wheel the vehicle will pull violently to that side, but if it happens on a rear, the rear end of the vehicle might get a little "squirmy" but nothing that a reasonably aware driver won't be able to handle. Yes, the donut will have less traction than a regular tire, but if you're driving anywhere near your traction limits on a donut, well, you deserve whatever you get, I guess.
Just MHO, take it for what it's worth. Personally I think the OP is either a troll or a complete dumbbutt, and I certainly wouldn't run a "donut" above its rated speed for more than a couple miles. It's intended to last long enough to get you to somewhere you can get your real tire patched, nothing more.
