Or perhaps your view of the IAM teaching is distorted? I learned from the "blue book" (the 1977 edition) and that's what I taught to buttociates. You are right though, Roadcraft has been "revised" quite a bit. I would call it dumbed down, YMMV.
So do I.
That's true. My comments were not trying to defend the "revised" advanced course, rather just pointing out that the schools have not been "closed". I am as concerned about the state of police driver training as the next man.
That's all I was saying. Sorry if it appeared to be an attack. It was intended as such.
Quite probably. When I first had access to the Suslove driving school (through the local IAM group) it was a large(ish), thriving unit with good facilities. When I last visited there (on my last RoADA retest) it is now seriously downsized, has moved to a different part of the HQ and is currently based in what is little more than a shed. That cannot be good.
