Try driving the 35 mile stretch of the A77 with the specs cameras. It is a f***ing nightmare now, to put it bluntly.
The standard of driving on this road was never the best, now it's bloody dangerous. People are too busy looking at their speedo and hitting the brakes to be paying any attention to driving properly. Someone is going to die BECAUSE of these cameras.
What will be the governments answer then? I vouch it will be more cameras because they're obviously not working. Lowering the speed limit and other bullpoo measures. This will lead to more impatient drivers and more idiotic drivers who can't keep their feet off the brake pedal.
The camera idea seems to have full support on this newsgroup when they are used in places that they are useful. It is the willy nilly placing of these things that takes peoples minds off the job of driving and worrying about their licence that is the problem.
Have you not noticed the vast reduction of police traffic cars since all these cameras started going up? Who's catching the really bad drivers now?
