So, take a piece of paper and a pen and write
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYING THE CONGESTION CHARGE WHEN I'M AWAY
1. Go to the Congestion Charge website at (Note that it would be helpful if you went to the site yourself and registered your details first.)
2. Click on the "Online" link. (A new window opens)
3. Click on the double arrow next to "Non Registered Customers Click Here".
4. Read the information provided (If it's not too confusing for you).
5. Click on the double arrow next to "Continue". You now get a dialogue box asking for details:-
6. If paying for that day's use of the Congestion Zone simply enter your vehicle's registration number. (But first of all make sure it's not a weekend because you don't need to pay for Saturdays or Sundays.) and click on continue.
7. It then presents the details and gives the opportunity to edit. (That's just in case you've managed to screw up entering your registration number. You do know your registration number don't you?)
8. Let's buttume you've managed to enter it correctly so click on "Continue".
9. You then get a chance to add more days and-or additional vehicles. Let's keep it simple and just do todays shall we? Click on "Continue".
10. This is the fun part. All you have to do is enter your Credit or Debit card details and the job's done.
There now, that wasn't too difficult was it?
