How to get Chelsea Tractors off the Roads 120

Adrian

Wouldn't go near the place if I could help it.

Bloody congestion charge, innit ;-)

I beg to differ - I think your English was ambiguous at best, more likely misleading. In "my regime", anyone who wants privacy would be enbreastled to it. Even John Prescott. Yes, indeed it is...

Seriously though, a few times over the last few years I've had cause to drive near the CC zone and avoided it.

Following up to JNugent I think its more with professionals and business than just what the right like to fantasise...

For an out of towner all I know about it is that if I touch the edge of the zone I've got to pay something somewhere or get a big fine in the post.

Dave Plowman (News) Nice snipping. It would inhibit the amount of space that can be used for...

So even though I was going in to see somebody at their house I would also have to go to a shoppoing area, park somewhere (costs money and time), figure out where to pay (newsagents? post offices? presumably somewhere, but no clues where that I could see while driving past)) and pay it, then find my way out again.

So it ends up costing me more than just the CC, takes longer, and ends up with me driving a lot further within the zone than I would have.

If there was a website I could go to within a *few days* (not by whatever time it is that night - 7? 8? 12?) and pay against my reg. no. that would be fine. But AFAIK there isn't.

The information just isn't out there on the streets for those of us sensible enough to live well away from London. I know I *could* look it up on the web, but in at least one of those cases it was a last minute thing and I didn't have time to plan it first.

And yes I would usually go by Tube but when you are going by car to pick up or drop off bulky-heavy stuff then the tube isn't a possibility.
