How to win speeding ticket

Breaking In a New Car
I'm going to be picking up a new car tonight (2006 Hyundai Elantra VE 5 Door Auto) so I've been doing some reading on the best way to break it...

You could try telling the truth -- not to argue that you should be allowed to speed because somebody else was speeding worse, but to suggest that the cop, in all innocence, mistook you for the similar car that was really, really speeding.

Of course, I have no idea if that's true. You could be lying, or fooling yourself, or reinventing history through the filter of your own position of innocence.

But whatever you do, one thing is certain: the cop will lie. The better your story sounds, the more he will lie. If your story sounds really plausible, the cop will swear that you were hanging out the window while driving 200 mph, and that you almost ran over 7 little old ladies pushing baby carriages, and that you pulled a gun on him and called his mother a whore, but because he's such a nice guy he is only charging you with doing 71.

And the judge will be very reluctant to rule that the cop is a liar. Because the cop will be back there, again, and again, and an official ruling that Officer Friendly is a lying chickensucker, and a perjuring felon, would threaten the administration of local justice. Whereas convicting you would just be money in the bank.
