Hundreds Of Truckers Protest High Gas Prices 2097

2.60 a frickin gallon! 2098
First off, the prices are high because of speculative bidding... Thing is, oil is no longer a commodity -- it's a necessity. "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" Like it or not, none of...

No, but I've read the EIS of Yucca Mtn. And I went to a military school for nuclear subjects. I'm all for nuclear power. The Navy has been operating power plants since the 50's with no problems. It's the by-product I have a problem with.

DOE has been lying and covering up many problems that they know they will encounter with spent fuel. Why does a state that has no benefit from nuclear power be responsible for it's storage? It might be a different story if the project made jobs but it doesn't.

Why can't DOE encapsulate the waste in glbutt like it's done before. Because of cost. DOE has broken laws by not studying all the available methods and sites and went directly to Yucca Mtn. There are ways to make the storage of the spent fuel safer but DOE has ignored all of them.

Now they have to gamble if the NRC will license the place. It's a bag of worms waiting for a major accident. All the savings of pollution go out the window when there's an accident with the spent fuel. Even sitting in the storage site will some day cause major contamination problems then the statement that nuclear power is clean will change to we end ourselves.
