The only "disgrace" has come from two sources: the small part of the stranded who reverted to savage behavior; and the government, especially at the federal level, who essentially abandoned everyone else during the first crucial hours and days after the disaster.
I make no bones about how I've always thought -- or rather known -- that Bush was-is a lying, incompetent dumbbutt, and that Bush voters and supporters in general are gullible fools at best, malicious, smearing cretins at worst. Still, though, I've made some effort to keep these online debates from completely deteriorating into utter flamewars, and that I've tried mix in a lot of detailed and solid links and evidence to back up my opinions and to shoot down the other guy's.
But after watching so much this surreally awful failure of leadership, responsibility and just plain f*cking common sense unfold on TV.... After this, if someone still supports Bush and defends him in any way, he or she just hopelessly f*cked-up beyond redemption. Just another crackpot who thinks the moon landing was staged, "This is Spinal Tap" was a documentary, John Kerry's medals are fake, and that Bush was ever, ever a good choice. Still want to defend him after all this? Good for you, but you might as well wear a big button that says, "I'm a crackpot and a moron -- ask me why."
