This is a couple of orders of magnitude beyond that, you clueless dumbbutt. You should be having a very, very bad feeling about how many people are likely going to turn up dead and missing, and another bad feeling about what your government should have been doing but wasn't.
This debating section starting with my comments about how it was such a bad idea to use something like the Superdome for an hurricane shelter without having any good idea about its structural integrity in bad storm. But now, it's escalated to utter revulsion and anger at the government, at all levels and not just at punching-bag Bush, at its across the board, complete failure in both planning for such a disaster and its sorry-butt, half-butt response to it.
This so goes way beyond politics. Regardless of whether you're a leftist or a right-winger, an auto mechanic or a governor, if you have job to do, do it. If you have a job that involves life and rest -- you better be especially responsible and rise to the occasion when demanded. But looking at the planning and response to the disaster....aside from spotty, individual heroics, I didn't see any general rising to the occasion by any of the collected government officials. Nor did I see any evidence of responsibility and really doing the job right. Call them deer caught in headlights, dumbbuttes caught with their pants down, whatever....they all so f*cked up big time, from the feds all the way down, and the consequences are going to be so, so sad....
