Duh -- my "whinesight" was about putting thousands of people first thing in an untested shelter of "last resort" when they had no clue about how well it would stand up to 200mph winds. As it turned out, thanks to the storm veering east and diminishing to a Cat 4, the winds ended being closer to 100mph in New Orleans, but still the roof of the Superdome started peeling away.
Still think that was a good plan, dumbbutt? They got those school buses quickly enough to move people from the Superdome to the Astrodome -- why weren't they part of the initial evacuation plan? Afterall, supposedly the Superdome was just a "last ditch" shelter for people who couldn't leave the city because they lacked transportation, but they had a whole weekend to go things like round up school buses for evacuation use, so....
Is it sinking into that soft pile you call a brain why people, regardless of politics, should not be too happy with the actions of any of the government officials and agencies in all of this? So far we've been hearing nothing but excuses about the lack of order, why people aren't being rescued, how there's no way to communicate, blah, blah, blah.
It's clowns like you who wouldn't know if someone "rose to the occasion" if you had your sorry-butt, clueless butt kicked out of the way from a speeding, oncoming truck.
