You'd save more weight by taking a dump before you went on a trip
I know a roadside buttist guy, and nothing annoys him more than people who can't change a tire. I hate to imagine what he would think of someone who deliberately leaves their tire behind. In fact, where I live, you can get a fine and demerit points for doing that.

You waste more fuel idling at that light, than you would have if you had accelerated to beat it. Multiply that by all the people behind you who also have to idle because you wanted to be a control freak

Fuel economy has little to do with emissions. CO2 is not a pollutant and not a carcinogenic.
