I've a friend who uses Tom Tom and he say's it can't cope with M2 J3A229. It would have got him lost if he hadn't known the area. See multimap link below..

I have a large plastic box of maps that comes with me every job. Never used SatNav. Having a good, up to date map of an area is as good as, and sometimes better than, knowing an area personally. I agree with the poster who said to write down a list of junctions and road numbers and stick it on the steering wheel boss to refer to whilst driving. Handy for long distances. But in London say, you do often need to pull over to memorise the next few streets. (A to Z Master Atlas of Greater London.. wouldn't drive in the capitol without it!) With a map you can see the "overview" of the route and possible ways around say, roadworks or jams. You can't do this if blindly following sat nav intructions.
