Idiotic truck drivers...... 557

Hmmm...If so, then why is the breastle of the thread "Idiot truck drivers"?

If you want me to really highlight how anti-HGV this group is, I can pop off to Google. I had a quick scan putting HGV and truck in the "Subject contains" box...came up with many hits.

Could have fooled me. The instant there's a linkable item on BBC News, another thread is started.

What's the point? I'm sure that as usual, you'll find some way of twisting my words.

Reporting Speeding Policemen 558
I remember some years ago - be about 20plus - at Skegness, Lincolnshire. A motorist's wife was caught exceeding the speed limit, fined and points (no fixed penalties in those days) as...

Because I'm sick of hearing about every single time a lorry longer than the road is wide is involved in some event that results in a "Quite frankly obvious unless you're a blithering idiot" road closure how dangerous and bad we all are despite the fact that official figures show us to be many many times safer than car drivers. And to compund that even further, you do it without ascertaining the real story.

I remember the rants that went on about dangerous lorry drivers when some tanks came off a low loader on the M1 and end 5 people. How bad, evil and downright dangerous all lorry drivers were. Yet strangely, when it came to light that the trigger event was an arsehole in a Honda Civic, the cries of "hang em all" turned into some starting at feet and mumbling under breath in a "Ah, we've been caught out" kind of stylee. And yet strangely, you could hear a pin drop over the sounds of derision meted out at such pillocks as the Honda driver.

But don't worry yourself about it. Pretty much every HGV driver is used to being treated to such unwarranted venomous abuse.
