Imagine if he'd been on a bike instead

If I may play devil's advocate for a moment....

Gotta laugh at
Pooh Bear came up with the following;: The freedom to buy a vehicle that can do everything I need a vehicle for, instead of...

Firstly, this lad took the car and knowingly drove it without insurance.

Secondly, according to BBC Jargon Buster, "Dangerous Driving" is defined as follows: "Dangerous driving refers to when a person drives a motor vehicle in a way that falls well below what is expected of a competent and careful driver"

So, if he had been caught driving it in a reasonable manner, then I agree, dangerous driving does not really come into it, although he should be hung drawn and quartered for driving without insurance.

However, to take the car, knowingly uninsured, and drive it at 150mph, particularly on a non-motorway seems to me to be reckless in the extreme, as any loss of control at such a speed will surely end up a major incident. So, does the above description of Dangerous Driving apply to this lad's apparent recklessness and driving manner?

Okay, so had he been insured and caught at 150mph, would he still be reckless? (buttuming one agrees that driving uninsured at 150mph is reckless), and should this make any difference as to whether he's done for DD or not.

Dunno, I need more caffeine.
