Impatients in repmobiles

Time for me to go off on a bit of a rant ;)

I was driving down the M1 on Sunday after a hard day of exercise. Traffic wasn't too bad, the flow running at about 80-85mph and I was making good progress.

I moved into L3 to overtake a few cars in L2, each spaced about 7 or 8 car lengths apart (an estimate, and probably not a very good one!)

As I was halfway through my overtakes, seemingly out of nowhere a guy in an Audi started resting on my backside - WAY too close for the speed. I could not see his licence plate, that is how close he was.

He obviously didn't like me getting in his way, as he just sat there flashing his headlights constantly. He may have also been on his mobile, but he wasn't talking so perhaps he was just resting his one hand on his head.

Do these people really think they are so important that us "lesser folk" will get out of their way at their command? I was damned if I was going to pull back in to L2 earlier than anticipated just so he could shave a few seconds off his journey time.

Brian your them a I see a lot of people suggesting this when topics similar to mine are brought up. Frankly, although it seems many people in this thread feel I...

I took probably about another minute or so to get past the last car in L2, whereupon I pulled back in (he had given up flashing his lights by this point). He then sped past at what must have been at least 110 and just carried on going.

It isn't even as if I was going slow - I think I was travelling at an indicated 85 at the time.

Mike G the them I to I was taught during my driving lessons to minimise lane changes wherever possible as the potential for accidents increases with each one. Having someone sit on...

That was probably the first time I have ever experienced "aggressive" behaviour since pbutting my test in August. Why do they do it?
