It doesn't apply to them simply because it is impossible to achieve.

I managed to lose the back end on an Opel Ascona CDi when I was overtaking an Escort RS Turbo. He was doing 40mph. The section was normally tight, but his slow speed should have made it easy. I moved out to overtake, already approaching him at a suitable speed, and just as I pbutted him, he put his foot down when I was alongside. This meant that he was just in my rear quarter, with me unable to pull back in and making an abort very tricky, I was already needing to think about braking for the bend. Just then, a car was seen coming around the corner. I did manage to pull back in, but definitely swung the rear end round the bend, but maintained control and stayed in the middle of the lane.

By coincidence, a car identical to that one was featured on the local news the next week. It had wrapped itself round a tree, barely two miles from the spot he had tried to liquidate me. No idea if it was actually the same muppet. Hopefully he was end, if it was.

Christian.
