It's only cyclists that jump red lights, you know

Another idiot who doesn't realise that amber means STOP. "You may go on only if the AMBER appears after you have crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to pull up might cause an accident" as the Highway Code says.

If the light turns amber you're meant to stop - not carry on 'cos you think you'll get through just as it turns red.

You've just perfectly illustrated my point and the mentality that goes with it - "it's only just gone red - that's okay, everyone does it. I'm not doing anythin wrong like those naughty cyclists."

and cycling straight through Cyclists don't tend to go through red lights when there is traffic crossing in other directions - for obvious reasons. They tend to go through when the traffic isn't crossing, treating them as give way signs. This is illegal of course and not to be encouraged by you seem to think it's bad but cars treating a red light as a 'three more cars through' sign or something is fine

Brimstone Of course you do. If its a load unloading only road, then when you pbutt that road you know that you are free to drive on any road you like and not...

When pedestrians are crossing, that's a different matter. But again, you don't have to go far to see a car turning right over a busy junction when the green man is showing.

To any sane person a ton weight lump of metal running the lights is more serious that a skinny bloke on a bike.
