There's no confusion. Corporal punishment or the thought of that as a possible consequence is one form of discipline. Again, I'm not recommending wholesale beatings and floggings of students and children by their parents and teachers, but I do remember and *respect* the memory of Mrs. Lawrence who was my 4th grade teacher andRitalin in human formfor my over- if not hyper-active self.
Respect being the word you may have overlooked.
Students view it that way. Have you been in a school recently? There must be consequences and I did not say that paddling was the only form of consequence. I trust you at least saw, even if you chose not to click, the Stop Hitting website.
Here: I'm not recommending wholesale beatings and floggings of students and children by their parents and teachers. Repebreastion is one way to retain information.
And that's not happening always. I believe we're on the same page minus the cloning issue.
You are wrong. Mrs. Lawrence never left a mark and she had more than a paddle in her bag of tricks. She was an educated, effective, firm and respect-worthy teacher. Discipline is more than the paddle, yes, but it's also more than pulling kids out of clbuttrooms at the first sign of disruption. Thank you, however, for expressing your opinions.
