says... Yep.

I was always brought up to repect the police, as were my parents-stepparents.

Something seems to have changed since my childhood though.

When I've seen some of the things go on, it really did pee me off. I always thought, genuinley, most...

Even my law abiding stepdad "Wouldn't pee on one if he was on fire", as a generality these days, after being given a kicking for "resisting arrest", after being buttaulted by two officers on the way home from some after hours pool practice (he was captain of the pub team).

My Uncle had reported a youngish (20 something) tall white male with short blonde hair, white sweatshirt and jeans and trainers trying to brake into his house, very near to were my dad was collared and beaten. he was wearing a blue rangers football shirt, dark trousers, shoes, has long dark hair and in his late 50's.

My uncle saw out of an upstairs window what was going on, came down and said, "I phoned you about the attempted break in that isn't him, that's my brother inlaw". The response he got, from two Sandbach officers (although I believe they get moved arround a bit so you may know them, but I won't mention names) was "f*** off back inside and say nothing, unless you want the same".

Very obviously a police officer has to make a decision as to whether or not...

My stepdad was taken into custody with bruised ribs, cuts to the face and head, a boot impression to the face where they had stood on him to cuff him, and sprained wrists where the cuffs had been put on twisted and they then had lifted him to his feet by his arms.

He was charged with breach of the peace, affray, buttaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest, and was told, if he dropped any complaint for his treatment, he would get a caution for breach of the police, otherwise he would be charged with the lot, and the word of two officers against his, "A drunk", he was also refused access to a police doctor, even with the cuts to his head and face, and being able to hold a pen due to the pain in his wrists, after the cuts were takewn off so he could sign the caution. -- "Sorry Sir, the meatballs are Orf" The poster formerly known as Skodapilot.
