Conor
I own an iPod. So do several of my closest friends and so does my youngest son whose safety I value above my own.
Tell us why we "deserve" to be victims of crime.
Try not to make yourself look too silly in doing so.
Don't ignore this part of the post.
Are people not allowed to be concerned about their safety? Are they not allowed to have their concerns addressed?
Please be explicit.
And?
Because there is a LAW against threatening behaviour (however defined).
"Don't do it, and you won't get done".
Simple (one might have thought).
Why do kids-teenagers-adolescents hang around in the street, anyway? What makes them (or anyone) suppose they have a right to do it?
You are simply ignoring the effect they are having on others. They probably aren't ignoring it though - they may well think it's "just a laugh", whilst being well aware of the effect they have.
Well... except... they are.
They are frightening people, causing them to be concerned for their safety. And it's all COMPLETELY unnecessary. The street-shopping centre is absolutely NOT the only place they have to go, whereas it IS the only place their victims can go.
If you mean that you will never convince me that artful, barrack-room lawyer, bullies should not be able to intimidate those less strong (ie, older and more vulnerable) than they are, you are right.
